Climbed for 1,000' for 4 miles at 5% grade. Coming out of Warm Springs, OR - in the high desert region. This climb came at mile 13 this morning. The road curved and wound up the plateau.
Near the end of the 4 mile climb I looked back and could still see the mountains. High desert region of Oregon.
You have all read in the newspapers about the 2 US GI's that were brutally killed in Iraq. We rode through Madras, OR the home town of Tom Tucker one of the soldiers. This long memorial was along the main road, US 26, in the town. Very moving. Pray for all our troups!
