Day 6 John Day, OR to Baker City, OR photos

Nancy A. stopping along the Powder River on the way down the mountain pass. We followed this river that ran along Rte 7. We were about 10 miles from Baker City at this point. It was hot and windy -- but having a grand time!
Lil at the SAG, rest stop taking a well deserved break in the ABB staff chair. She is the Captain of the triple tandem that her 13 and 16 year old sons are riding with her. They live in France.
Flowers at the snack table. Local wild flowers that were picked up along the roadway.
When we arrived into Baker City we came upon a kids bicycle race. This group lining up at the start line were the 3-5 year olds without training wheels classification. The end fellow was three years old. He was adorable! And when the start gun went off he pedaled his little legs as fast as he could. He may be the next Lance Armstrong! The professional bike racer, men and women were racing later in the afternoon. This is the 9th annual Elkhorn Bike Race. Posted by Picasa
